John's love for the film industry has led to a career working for several major studios but his obsession for all things weird and wonderful led him to produce the independent feature film Socket.

Doug has been an award-winning Graphic Designer for the entertainment industry for over 20 years, working on projects for TV networks and film studios including stints at Showtime and Disney. Doug segued into Production Design and Props for a number of exciting indie film projects (Cook-Off!, Shattered, Rope Burn, Pornography: A Thriller) and was on staff in the art department on Lifetime's sitcom Lovespring International, as well as the pilot for the hit series Samantha Who? and the feature film GET SMART.

In 2006, John and Doug decided to form a production company - Velvet Candy Entertainment, LLC., which they established to help create independent feature film and television projects, where the sexuality of the main characters is incidental to the story. Their goal is to tell unique and compelling stories with strong crossover appeal. Socket was John and Doug's first stab at co-producing a feature, but they have completed several other projects including the short films Screening Party, and Reunion, which was funded by the HBO SHOUT Short Film Competition.
